Just 48 hours before the first previews of the much talked about revival of acclaimed Broadway musical Grand Hotel and it’s leading man Philip Rham has announced he’s to leave the show due to a family emergency.
However, it’s been confirmed that David Delve will replace him as Otternschlag at the Southwark Playhouse. Delve’s credits include Squeers in the RSC’s epic Nicholas Nickelby; Thenadier the innkeeper in Les Miserables and Mr Sowerby in Oliver! at the London Palladium.
The show’s producer DanielleTarento said: “We wish Philip well and are thrilled to welcome to the production the fantastic David Delve to take over and play Colonel-Doctor Otternschlag. We thank David enormously for stepping in at such short notice.”
Grand Hotel runs until 5 September.
